a (perhaps slightly awkward) first introduction.
Well, to start off, who am I?
Quite the philosophical question to start off with, but don’t you worry. my intention is not to delve into deep questions about what makes me what I am in this short introduction (shocking I know). I’m just hoping to introduce myself briefly in this first post.
hi! my name is Olivia, I’m 20 years old and I’m a fanatical music nerd, and if you’ve read this far, you’re probably (hopefully) at least somewhat interested in what I have to say, which gladdens me greatly.
I’m starting this Substack thing because my mom recommended it to me and I’ve been contemplating finding somewhere to post my thought for a long time. my main reason for using this platform is not to gain a bunch of readers and make money. I really just want a place to gather my musings and if others find something of value in them too then that’s great (although a bit scary).
so like, what can you expect?
the honest answer is that I’m not sure yet. I’m mainly hoping to write about my thoughts on certain artists, albums or genres, but pretty much anything regarding music is possible. I’ve also been to a lot of concerts, 11 in the last 6 years and 3 lined up (I hope those numbers are correct) so I’ll probably also write about my experiences with live music.
I can’t promise to post regularly and I will not make any content behind a paywall. This will probably be a pretty sporadic blog with posts varying in length about some topics that I find interesting, hopefully you’ll find it interesting too.
